As a Black woman living in Boulder for 5 1/2 years, I have become accustomed to being the 'only one,' meaning the only Black person, in most social situations. I have a new partner of 3 years who's a professional Black man now living with me in Boulder and, while there seem to be many support groups for Interracial Couples, both of us have struggled to find social outlets where one can find Black friends or Black couples to spend time with.
